Barton Close brings experience, expertise and commitment to his role as a financial advisor. A Certified Financial Planner™ professional who has been involved in the investment services industry for more than two decades, he recognizes the need for thorough financial planning that pairs investments with his clients' life goals.
"I want my clients to see me as more than someone they turn to for investment advice," says Barton. "I strive to be an advisor who helps them plan for their future so they can live their lives to the fullest."
To do that, he provides a full array of financial panning services - including education funding, retirement planning, estate services and long-term care insurance - designed to help clients achieve their specific objectives.
Barton joined Raymond James in 2005 because the firm shares his dedication to client service. Prior to that, he spent 14 years with A.G Edwards and was also a financial advisor with Prudential Securities.
A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, he earned his CFP designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. He is extremely involved in the financial planning community, serving on the Chattanooga Estate Planning Council, the National Association of Investment Financial Advisors and the Financial Planning Association. In addition, he is a regular columnist for the East Tennessee Business Journal.
Barton is a native and resident of Signal Mountain and is actively involved in the community. He is on the Baylor School Planned Giving Council, is a board member of the Alexian Foundation and is involved with the local Lion's Club. He attends Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church with his wife, Cindy, and their children and is an avid antique car enthusiast, as well as a Boy Scout volunteer and merit badge counselor.
