Born in Houma, Louisiana, Bruce moved to Tucson at a young age and has lived here for most of his life. He did spend a few years in Venezuela during his younger years, while his father was working in the oil business. After a few years down in the tropical climate of South America, Bruce returned to the United States where he would go on to attend Sahuaro High School in Tucson. While playing baseball at Sahuaro, he hit 10 home runs in one season – the state record for over 25 years until Shelley Duncan broke it. The Sahuaro team went on to win their first state baseball championship. Bruce decided to attend Yavapai Junior College in Prescott, Arizona, once he graduated high school. While at Yavapai, he pitched in the Junior College World Series and the Roughriders would go on to win the national championship. Following his two years in Prescott, Bruce returned to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona and go on to receive his bachelor of arts in business administration. Bruce also pitched on the University of Arizona baseball team and he got a chance to pitch in the College World Series and he beat Clemson on their way to a national championship. After college, he was drafted by the Mets and opted to go since he was all finished with his schooling. After two years of minor league baseball with the Mets, and a million miles on the bus, Bruce was ready to get started in the working world. He began his career as a successful financial planner in 1980.

It is very important to Bruce that he build personal business relationships with clients and effectively communicate with them. After two of the companies that he was working for were bought out, he was ready to become an independent advisor and run his own business. Bruce has been with Raymond James for more than five years and has a wonderful relationship working with the company. Outside of work, Bruce is an avid golfer and also a life member of the Tucson Conquistadores. The Conquistadores are a group that helps raise money for children of southern Arizona, as well as, helping run the Accenture Match Play PGA Tournament here in Tucson. Bruce has two children, Stacie, 26, and Eric, 23, and is married to the lovely, Dawn Gunter.
