First, you should know that independence is for successful advisors. So, you must possess the entrepreneurial drive, ambition and discipline to create and grow a thriving practice. You should have the desire to lead and the initiative to follow through.

Then, you’ll need a minimum of three years' experience and $250,000 in annual fees and commission revenues to open your own Raymond James office. If you do not meet this criteria, you can also explore the option of joining an existing branch.
