ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently hired Cynthia Woodsmall Jones, CRPS™, as senior vice president, investments in the Columbus, Ga., branch office of Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the traditional employee broker/dealer of Raymond James Financial, Inc. (NYSE-RJF) – according to branch manager John Martin.

“We are delighted to have been able to attract such an experienced, successful advisor as Cindy to our Columbus branch,” said Martin. “She has a phenomenal reputation and exemplifies a deep caring for her clients and their interests, which is totally in line with Raymond James’ values and culture.”

“I chose to join Raymond James,” stated Jones, “because it reminded me of an earlier time in my career, when my firm offered the combination of a client-first focus, a collegial family atmosphere and the highest quality technology and operations support. Since I’ve been at Raymond James, every day has brought a new and wonderful discovery: from the great client statements, to the first-class technology and the friendly staff ... to the point where I am ecstatic about my decision to join.”

Jones began her financial services career in 1981 with Robinson-Humphrey & Co. She stayed with the same firm over the years, through various acquisitions and mergers, ultimately joining Raymond James from Morgan Stanley. At that firm, Jones managed more than $435 million in client assets and had more than $1 million in annual fees and commissions.

Also joining Jones from Morgan Stanley is registered sales associate Brenda Meadows, who has more than 33 years of financial industry experience, including several as operations manager and complex risk officer.

Jones is a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist™ and focuses her practice on asset management for high-net-worth individuals and families; she also advises on corporate retirement assets, specifically 401(k) plans.

A graduate of the University of North Alabama in Florence, with a bachelor’s degree in home economics, Jones went directly into the financial services industry, but remains passionate about food and gardening, and describes herself as a foodie who is “obsessed with trees, plants and flowers.” Active over the years in her community, she has been involved with the Columbus Regional Tennis Association, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Stewart Community Home.
