Payout & Compensation

As an independent employee with Raymond James Advisor Select, compensation is based on the net profitability of your office and gross payout is higher than you will find at traditional full-service NYSE-member firms. A favorable structure is tiered according to the investment alternatives sold, as well as annual production.

Payout for financial planning/consulting fees is 83%.

Type I — Securities include listed equities, foreign equities, syndicate offerings, options, listed bonds, corporate bonds, U.S. Treasuries, preferred stocks, foreign bonds, government agency bonds, mortgage-backed bonds and CMOs, municipal bonds, CDs, unit investment trusts, investment banking referral fees, Raymond James Bank, Managed Investment Program (MIP)*, Raymond James Consulting Services (RJCS) fees*, and Ambassador* fee-based accounts.

Type II — Investments include mutual funds (purchases and trails), annuities and annuity trails, insurance and insurance trails, public partnerships, private partnerships, Passport Investment Accounts*, Freedom Accounts*, controlled asset fees, and Outside Money Manager Programs (OSM)*.

Cash Equivalents Bonus Plans

An additional revenue source is an annual 15 basis points gross production credit (paid quarterly) to branch directors or financial advisors on certain “cash equivalent” assets. The credit is given on margin account debits, Raymond James Bank commercial lines of credit and pledged securities lines of credit, cash accounts held by Raymond James Bank, and internal money market fund balances.

Financial Advisors performing at a recognition club level (Leaders Circle, President’s Club, Chairman’s Council) receive a gross credit of 15 basis points on these assets. Fee-based assets are excluded. There is no payout on fees or trails from money market funds other than those named above. The credit is paid quarterly at the appropriate Type II payout rate.
