Virtual Art TourLenn Neff, American, born 1949St. Petersburg, FL resident "Lenn Neff is an artist/designer/craftsman who produces objects and commissioned works in contemporary leaded glass and architectural arts, with a strong emphasis on public art," according to his biography. Describing his artistic objective, Lenn writes, "I use the 'window' as a metaphor for 'looking' and for 'seeing' and not simply as a format for designed glass. Light, the key element in my work, has become a metaphor for the highest potential of human being." His works include: stained glass for windows, doors/entryways; moveable or fixed screens; gates; cabinet panels; wall graphics; lamps; and sconces. Some of his public art projects can be seen at the University of Florida, in Gainesville, and at the University of South Florida, in St. Petersburg. Lenn's private commissions include commercial, residential and ecclesiastical works throughout Florida, as well as in Fiji and Saudi Arabia. He received his bachelor of fine arts degree in 1971 from the Rhode Island School of Design and has participated in stained glass workshops, classes and seminars since 1980. Lenn’s work can be found in the collections of Florida Progress, Hunnicutt Equities and the Cities of Dunedin and St. Petersburg, FL among others. His most recent exhibitions include Tampa Museum of Art, Vero Beach Center for Arts, Florida State University Art Gallery & Museum, Jacksonville Art Museum and the Florida Craftsmen 40th Anniversary Juried/Traveling Exhibition. |
