Giving Back
We’re an integral part of the community.
We’re not all business. We believe in supporting the communities that help us continue our growth and success. And giving back is our way of saying thanks and showing our support for our fellow citizens. A leader in this regard, Raymond James has been recognized for its philanthropy and community support by such organizations as the National Business Committee for the Arts, Sack Hunger Food Drives, Habitat for Humanity and the United Way of Tampa Bay.
In addition, Raymond James associates are involved in numerous organizations across the nation, from civic clubs and schools to chambers of commerce and social service organizations. They are generous with their funds, their time and their leadership. We match associate donations to the United Way and other charities, and sponsor numerous civic and charitable events, including the annual Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts and Taste the Best of Tampa Bay. We’re also known for our naming rights to Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Our community involvement doesn’t end there. The James family has a long-standing commitment to supporting local artists, whose breathtaking art adorns the walls and lobbies of our headquarters. In fact, we’d say we have a flair for art – it’s all over our corporate campus. More than 1,800 works of art – including original paintings, sculptures and other media – make up the renowned and widely admired Tom and Mary James/Raymond James Financial Art Collection, one of Florida’s largest private art collections. Each year, we also host the Wildlife & Western Visions Art Show at our home office to celebrate the finest artists working in that genre. The artwork throughout the grounds is both beautiful and inspiring, making working here like working in a world-class museum.
In July 2010, Raymond James supported the capital campaign for the Chihuly Collection at the Morean Arts Center with the sponsorship of the new exhibit’s lobby. This year, we also supported the Salvador Dali Museum’s capital campaign by sponsoring the new facility’s Raymond James Community Room. Our support of the arts extends to the performing arts as well. Since 2005, we have been the title sponsor of the Florida Orchestra’s Raymond James Pops series, which features eight symphonic pop concerts with a variety of musical styles and artists. In addition, Raymond James has long supported the American Stage Theatre Company. In naming the Raymond James Theatre, the firm is proud to display its dedication to the arts in St. Petersburg and beyond, as well as its commitment to giving back to our community.
