David E. Thomas, Jr.
Senior Managing Director
Mr. Thomas has over 25 years of investment and merchant banking experience and has advised companies across a broad range of industries with regard to capital formation, acquisition and divestiture strategies. From 2000 through 2001, Mr. Thomas served as interim chairman and CEO at Safety-Kleen Corp. (NYSE), a $1.7 billion environmental and industrial services company, during its restructuring. Prior to that, he served as Head of Investment Banking at Raymond James Financial, Inc. (NYSE) and as Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Thomas graduated from Emory University, receiving JD and MBA degrees, with distinction, and from the University of Richmond, summa cum laude. Mr. Thomas is chairman of Albion Medical Holdings, Inc., Event Photography Group, Inc. and Sirchie Acquisition Company, LLC.
Gene J. Ostrow
Senior Managing Director
Mr. Ostrow has over 25 years of experience as a senior corporate executive and director of growth companies. In various capacities, he has assisted in building significant business enterprises through extensive capital formation and acquisition strategies. He was co-founder and former CFO of NationsRent, Inc. (NYSE). Mr. Ostrow was formerly CFO and head of business development of OHM Corp. (NYSE), an industrial and environmental services company, as well as a former Co-Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Raymond James Financial, Inc. Prior to that, he was a senior manager at KPMG. Mr. Ostrow graduated from the University of Albany and is a certified public accountant. Mr. Ostrow is a director of Albion Medical Holdings, Inc., Event Photography Group, Inc., and Sirchie Acquisition Company, LLC.
R. Scott Hukari
Managing Director
Prior to joining Raymond James Capital in 1997, Mr. Hukari spent seven years as an independent consultant focused on the development and implementation of value creation strategies for operating companies, investment firms and venture capital organizations. His activities have included deal sourcing, financial restructurings, business and plant relocations, and financial and operational analysis. Mr. Hukari graduated from the University of Missouri with both an undergraduate degree and an MBA. Mr. Hukari is a director of Albion Medical Holdings, Inc. and Sirchie Acquisition Company, LLC.
Kris Hansel
Vice President & Controller
Mr. Hansel has over 25 years of experience as a senior corporate executive of growth companies. Prior to joining Raymond James Capital in 2007, Mr. Hansel was VP, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller, VP of Planning and Process Improvement, and VP of Product Support for Nations Rent (NYSE--$700M) (a Huizenga Holdings sponsored company). Previous to his roles at Nations Rent, Mr. Hansel was VP, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller of OHM Corp., an industrial and environmental services company (NYSE--$600M). Prior to that, he was the Assistant Controller of Wearever – Proctor Silex, Inc. (NASDAQ--$400M) (a Wesray sponsored company).
Marcus A. Badger
Vice President
Mr. Badger joined Raymond James Capital in 2011, and brought with him over eight years of cumulative experience executing private equity investments and acquisition transactions, as well as raising debt capital. Mr. Badger’s private equity experience includes macroeconomic research-driven investment theme generation, proprietary deal origination, and leading the deal execution process. Mr. Badger was previously a Vice President at Frontenac Company, a Chicago-based private equity firm, where he developed industry sub-segment investment themes, recruited industry executives with whom to partner to originate investment opportunities, and managed deal structuring, due diligence and execution. Mr. Badger began his career advising public and private companies on strategic matters, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and business portfolio composition, while working in the investment banking divisions of UBS and Credit Suisse. Marcus holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.B.A. with High Distinction from The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at The University of Michigan.
Lexie Smith
Senior Analyst
Prior to joining Raymond James Capital in 2009, Ms. Smith spent three years as a financial analyst with General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE). After graduating from the company’s two-year financial management program, she spent one year as the global technology financial analyst for GE Security, where she forecasted new product introductions, developed product line profitability reporting and managed all controllership-related activities. Ms. Smith holds a BS in finance from the University of Florida, where she graduated summa cum laude.
Cindy Ford
Office Administrator
Prior to joining Raymond James Capital in 2003, Ms. Ford spent eight years as an event/training coordinator in the retail sales area of Raymond James & Associates, Inc. where she was responsible for the design and coordination of financial advisor training and Firm Element Continuing Education.
