Tom Avery
Managing Director
Head of Financial Sponsors Group
Mr. Avery joined Raymond James & Associates in 2000 as a managing director and head of the Technology Investment Banking Group. In 2006, he assumed leadership of the newly formed Financial Sponsors Group. Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. Avery headed the investment banking division and was chairman of the equity capital commitment committee at Wachovia (originally Interstate/Johnson Lane prior to merging with Wachovia in 1999). Before joining Interstate/Johnson Lane, he was a general partner at both Noro-Moseley Partners and Summit Partners. He began his investment banking career with The Robinson-Humphrey Company in 1977 prior to moving to the buy-side with Summit Partners. Mr. Avery earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating summa cum laude, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
David Clark
Managing Director

Mr. Clark joined Raymond James and Associates in 2009. Prior to joining Raymond James, he was a managing director at Lane, Berry & Co. International. Previously, Mr. Clark was a Director at UBS Warburg in the Global Industrial Group. At UBS Warburg, Mr. Clark completed numerous debt, equity, M&A advisory and restructuring transactions. Prior to UBS Warburg, Mr. Clark worked for Dillon, Read & Co. and at Bank of Boston Corporation. Mr. Clark received his MBA from the Darden School in 1997 and his BA in Economics from Harvard College in 1989.
Ian Mackay
Managing Director

Mr. Mackay joined Raymond James & Associates in 2007 as a vice president in the Financial Sponsors Group. Prior to joining Raymond James, he spent eight years at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, most recently in their financial sponsors group. Other experience at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey includes the structured real estate group, the capital markets origination group, and the food & beverage banking group. Mr. Mackay earned a Bachelor’s degree from Furman University in 1995 and an MBA from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in May 1999.
Matt Mastin

Mr. Mastin joined Raymond James & Associates in 2010 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in Finance, and Germanic Languages. Mr. Mastin is active in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements.
Dorothy Shively

Ms. Shively joined Raymond James & Associates in 2011 after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and French. Ms. Shively is active in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements.
