Lisa is a native of Riverton, in the Southeast corner of Kansas. The desire to pursue a masters in library and information management, with specific emphasis in school libraries, brought her up to Emporia in the spring of 1987. Working at Missouri Southern State University, Joplin, during the late seventies as secretary to the head librarian, initiated an interest in the library field. Additional library experience was gained by working in the public library at Emporia, and later as K-12 school librarian. After retiring from teaching, Lisa decided to join her husband in their office working for Raymond James Financial Services.
Lisa's office experience through the years, when not teaching, has included working at Pittsburg State University in both the School of Education and the Curriculum & Administration department. She was secretary to the president of the American National Bank in Baxter Springs, Kansas during the early 1980s, and enjoyed several temporary work assignments working as a "Kelly" and a "Penny" girl, in Joplin, Kansas City, and Austin, Texas.
Lisa has an Associate of Arts Degree from Northeastern A&M College in Criminal Justice, BSED in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University, and a School Library Media Specialist completing hours toward a masters degree at Emporia State University. She has been a shorthand instructor at Labette Community College teaching satellite courses at Baxter Springs, Columbus, and Riverton. She also taught as a GED Instructor at Labette. In recent years, Lisa has worked in the Emporia schools as a volunteer reading instructor. She has also participated as a past chair on the book committee for the First Congregational Church annual Christmas bazaar.
Some of the organizations Lisa is a member of include Order of Eastern Star (34 year member), Kappa Delta Pi National Education Society, International Who's Who of Professional Management, and member of First Christian Church of Baxter Springs, Kansas for 44 years. Some of Lisa's hobbies include travel, piano/organ, quilting, research, yoga, walking, oil painting, writing, and music. When not traveling, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband, Todd, at their home in the country.
Nadine has over 35 years of experience in the administrative field ranging from administrative/executive assistant to human resources representative. She has worked in manufacturing, education and non-profit businesses in the past. The present has taken her down a new path - learning about the financial investment business.
After graduating from Draughon Business College in Joplin, MO, Nadine worked for MCI Transportation in Joplin, MO; Vektek in Emporia, KS; SW Technical College in Liberal, KS; Speedline Technologies in Camdenton, MO and the Emporia Arts Council in Emporia, KS before coming to Raymond James Financial Services, Inc.
Since 1995, Nadine has been an active member in the Heartland Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). Through this organization she received two certifications, the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP). She has held each chapter level office at least once and chaired numerous committees. Regularly attending chapter, division and international educational forums keeps her abreast of various business trends, particularly in technology, software and soft skills.
Although education is a big draw to these conventions, she readily admits that the greatest reward from her involvement in IAAP is the networking. Meeting other admins from across the country adds to her knowledge base. She says, "Networking is my passion. It provides an additional way to acquire information, advice and assistance in other towns and cities and in areas of business that are different from mine. Networking with clients is no different; we learn something from every person we meet in life."
Two grown daughters, three grandchildren and a husband keep her home life busy. Nadine has an intense love of arts and crafts and does her best to dabble as often as possible with basketry, needlework, sewing, quilting, mosaics and anything new that comes along.
Raymond James is one of the largest independent financial services firms in the United States. Since its beginning in 1962, it has always been a different kind of company – embracing long-term planning and methodical decision-making while staying uncompromisingly client focused. When other firms were simply buying and selling stocks or mutual funds, Raymond James focused on financial planning to help individuals reach their goals. It was the first firm to pioneer that concept – and today it supports its advisors with access to a full range of comprehensive resources, helping them to do the same.
- More than 6,500 financial advisors
- 2.4 million client accounts
- 2,600 locations (United States, Canada and abroad)
- $372 billion in client assets
- $38 billion managed by its subsidiary asset managers
Raymond James Financial was named the best full-service broker in the 2011 SmartMoney annual broker survey for the third time in four years – ranking above Edward Jones, Wells Fargo, UBS, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
