In Our Community

Todd Osborn is a Paul Harris Fellow and member of the Emporia Rotary Club, the Philosophy Book Club and a supporter of both the Emporia Arts Council and the Emporia State University theatre. He also supports Emporia State University athletics, in particular, their women’s basketball, softball and volleyball programs

In addition, he is a member of Emporia's Multi-Use Path Planning Board. This board assists the city in planning and integrating a path/trails system to provide citizens of all ages safe routes to schools, work, shopping and recreation while promoting physical activity and preservation of the environment.

Todd particularly enjoys spending time in the Flint Hills, often by riding a mountain bike. For those interested in biking the Flint Hills, he recommends checking out these organized rides: the Flint Hills Death Ride, Dirty Kanza, Tour de Florence and both the spring and fall Alta Vista rides.

For the "vertically challenged," Todd recommends checking out the Flint Hills Nature Trail. The trail was converted from a rail trail. It is moderately flat and is currently complete from Admire to Council Grove. The newly completed portion from Bushong to Council Grove is exceptionally scenic as it cuts through the Flint Hills, paralleling the old Santa Fe Trail and crosses Rock Creek. It can be enjoyed by hikers and equestrians as well.

Each year Todd tries to squeeze in a backpacking trip to the mountains, usually in the western part of the United States. Since he carries along a few extra pounds of camera gear on these trips, our office walls are adorned with some relics from these trips, as well as those through the Flint Hills.

CHARITABLE GIVING

Typically people give to charities in order to support programs for youth, community projects and assistance for those less fortunate. They often leave bequests because they want to help others and provide a better quality of life in their communities.

We assisted in setting up the Loretto A. Langley Charitable Trust, the Gertrude B. Behymer Trust and the Emil Babinger Charitable Trust. We provide assistance with charitable giving and have assisted many nonprofit organizations with their donor gifts, marketing and asset management.

If you are interested in charitable giving and would like to know more about the process, please feel free to discuss these matters with us.
