Larry is a third-generation Floridian, and his surname is well-respected in the citrus and nursery industries in DeLand. As with many fields, the keys to success in agriculture are hard work, perseverance, insight and a reputation for delivering a quality product. The personal characteristics that led his family to prosper through 100-plus years in the agriculture business are the same qualities that Larry brings to his client relationships today.
Larry was raised in a small town in Northeast Florida and from an early age, excelled at problem solving. His undergraduate studies were at the University of North Florida where he graduated magna cum laude with a BBA in Finance with a focus on Portfolio Management and Securities Analysis. He later attended the University of Florida, completing his MBA on the weekends while working full time as an Assistant Vice President in banking.
Prior to joining Fischer Wealth Management, Larry spent 18 years of his career with SunTrust, covering every geographic region of the state before settling in Central Florida 10 years ago. He worked in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility at the bank, culminating with his role as an Executive Vice President managing a statewide team of financial professionals.
When he’s not working for his clients, Larry enjoys coaching his son’s Little League team in Lake Mary. He also serves in a variety of not-for-profit activities, and currently is on the Advisory Board of the Florida Regional Chapter of the Risk Management Association, is Treasurer of his son’s Trail Life Troop FL-413, and is the Treasurer of Waterstone Church in Longwood.
Larry specializes in advisory and planning services for the current generation of baby boomer retirees, to help them generate predictable lifetime income and employ capital preservation, tax optimization and wealth transfer strategies. In addition, Larry works with companies to establish and optimize their employer-sponsored plans, including 401(k)s and defined benefit pension plans.
