Doug Noble, Greg Bowden and Rob Dahl have achieved the certification of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals. Most people think that all financial planners are “certified,” but this isn’t true. Anyone can call himself or herself a “financial planner.” however, only those who have fulfilled the certification and renewal requirements of the CFP Board can display the CFP® certification marks.
Doug Noble, CFP®, ChFC®
Vice President, Investments
For nearly a decade, Doug has been helping clients manage their portfolios through constantly changing – and sometimes difficult – markets. Helping clients reach their retirement goals with the least amount of risk possible is his number-one priority. Doug is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional, a certification that required him to complete the arduous CFP® certification process in 2007, meet ongoing certification renewal requirements, and holds him to rigorous ethical standards. As a graduate of West Point and an Army veteran, however, Doug is no stranger to meeting demanding requirements.
Doug began serving his country at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. While at West Point he earned collegiate All-American Pistol honors both his junior and senior years and was a member of two national championship teams. He went on to serve at Fort Hood, Texas, as a Tank Platoon Leader and Tank Company Executive Officer in the First Cavalry Division, General Aide-de-Camp to the Chief of Staff, III Corps, and Garrison Training Officer. He then served in the inactive reserve from 2005 through 2008 and separated from the Army at the rank of Captain.
After the military, Doug began his career in the financial industry in 2005 when he joined A.G. Edward & Sons as a financial advisor. After two subsequent buyouts by Wachovia Securities and Wells Fargo Advisors, Doug joined with Greg Bowden and Rod Dahl to form Goodwater Wealth Management Group. Today, Doug’s primary responsibilities are mutual funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs), annuities and insurance planning.
Originally from a small farm in central Illinois, Doug and his wife, Kasie, live in Georgetown with their four children. They are members of the First Baptist Church in Georgetown, where Doug serves as a deacon. Service has always been a part of Doug’s life, which is why you’ll find him serving as treasurer and on the board of trustees for Grace Academy of Georgetown, as well as volunteering for the Scott & White Hospital, Round Rock, where he serves on the steering committee, board of visitors and the Greater Austin Estate Planning Council. He is also the former treasurer and board member for Habitat for Humanity, Williamson County.
