We believe that all sound financial decisions are a direct result of clear understanding through open discussion and education. All new client relationships begin in the "Retirement Education & Resource Center," which is simply a setting to provide a broad overview of financial topics that we have found to be important to couples and families planning for and already into retirement. The financial industry unfortunately follows what we would call a sales approach with the goal of leading a person into a specific product. In the "Retirement Education & Resource Center," we discuss no products and have no agenda other than to educate and to help identify your goals and concerns. Only after we've contributed to your knowledge base and gotten to know you personally can we begin to formulate ideas together that are well suited for your needs today and long-term.
Peter J. Gutekunst, CFP® has been educating and helping clients implement sound financial strategies since 1994. He specializes in working with individuals and families who are managing retirement assets with the goal of creating a life sustaining income that won’t be outlived. With a thorough background and knowledge in retirement account regulations, Gutekunst educates and assists in the accumulation and income distribution phases of retirement assets, while building strategies to protect and pass on a legacy.
Through a process of evaluating the “whole picture,” Peter focuses on helping to clearly identify goals and then implementing a well-defined plan. He helps execute a course of action designed to keep those near and in retirement on a path of making well-informed decisions while avoiding costly emotional mistakes.
Peter contributes monthly to the Age Has No Season section in the full group of Montgomery Newspapers such as the Ambler Gazette.
Gutekunst is a combat decorated Marine Corps veteran of Operation Desert Storm and continues his support of military service and veteran affairs as Post Adjutant and Financial Officer of the American Legion Post 405 in Philadelphia. Peter also serves as chair for the Advancement Committee of Liberty Lutheran Services and has volunteered at Liberty affiliate Artman Lutheran Home over the past four decades.
Peter, his wife Cherie, and three children Ally, Zach and Jake, reside in Maple Glen and are actively involved in the Horsham Township Community.
About Raymond James
Raymond James is one of the largest independent financial services firms in the United States. Since its beginning in 1962, it has always been a different kind of company – embracing long-term planning and methodical decision-making while staying uncompromisingly client focused. When other firms were simply buying and selling stocks or mutual funds, Raymond James focused on financial planning to help individuals reach their goals. It was the first firm to pioneer that concept – and today it supports its advisors with access to a full range of comprehensive resources, helping them to do the same.
- More than 5,400 financial advisors
- 2 million client accounts
- 2,400 locations (United States, Canada and abroad)
- $268 billion in client assets
- $35 billion managed by its subsidiary asset managers
Raymond James Financial was recently named the best full-service broker in the 2011 SmartMoney annual broker survey for the third time in four years – ranking above Edward Jones, Wells Fargo, UBS, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
