Is Gold a bubble?

We don’t think so but buying more now may not be the right approach. Investments typically don’t go “straight up” or ‘straight down.’ We believe it may be prudent to be patient if you are considering adding to your position in any investment that attempts to track the price of gold.

Disclaimer: The price of gold has been subject to dramatic price movements over short periods of time and may be affected by elements such as currency devaluations or revaluations, economic conditions within an individual country, trade imbalances, or trade or currency restrictions between countries. As a result, the market prices securities of companies mining or processing gold may also be affected.

Do you really know your risk tolerance?

As is typical when markets become volatile we are getting many questions from our clients about how they are positioned. ‘Should we be selling?’ ‘Should we buy more gold?’ ‘Should we get aggressive?’

We feel these are all legitimate questions but more importantly they beg a larger question. That is, are you sure you know your risk tolerance? We certainly advocate looking for opportunities when the markets present them but straying off course to chase an investment that doesn’t fit your investor DNA is possibly the worst thing you could do. If you aren’t sure that you have properly identified your true risk tolerance , that is your ability to handle ups and downs in the market, please give us a call so we can discuss this very important topic with you.
