Jon likes to say he helps people “Get retired, stay retired and tackle all the financial issues that come up in between." He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM who works with clients by helping them develop, prioritize and achieve their financial goals such as retirement, education, tax and risk planning, as well as wealth transfer and business succession planning. He is also a CERTIFIED DIVORCE FINANCIAL ANALYST and in that capacity, he helps clients evaluate the short and long term financial implications of a potential divorce settlement and answer the question, "will I be okay?"
Naval flight training brought Jon to Pensacola in 1986 after graduating summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts with a bachelors degree in business administration. He served for 10 years in the U.S. Navy as an officer and helicopter pilot, deploying from both coasts and serving in Operation Desert Storm. While in the Navy, Jon earned his master's degree in management from Troy University.
Jon lives in the Tiger Point area with his wife Kathleen and two sons, Alex and Collin. He is a past president of the Navarre Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Navarre Rotary Club, Chairman of the Board of the Navarre YMCA, a Mentor in the Take Stock in Children Program, and on the Board of United Way of Santa Rosa County.

Evelyn Smithies is the Office Manager and Jon calls her, "Vice president of everything." Evelyn handles all administrative matters, from tracking checks and disbursements, to checking cost basis and helping clients with investment and confirmation statements. Her Operational duties include initiating and following up on account transfers, processing IRA distributions and tracking 401(k) rollovers.
Evelyn has been in the financial services business for more than a decade and her knowledge and commitment to client service help make our practice a truly special place.
Evelyn came to Florida from southern Georgia with her husband John in 2000. She has three children and two step-children, two of whom are in the Santa Rosa school district.
Gina Colborn rounds out the team and is our newest member, coming aboard in Septmeber of 2011. Her title is Office Assistant and she is Evelyn's right hand. She shares her commitment to service and is responsible for scheduling, client mailings, event planning and marketing.
Gina is from New Jersey and is enjoying her new life in paradise with her husband Sam and children Danny and Melissa.
