My mission as a financial advisor is to help my clients grow their assets over the long term while encouraging them to more fully enjoy life by using their money for positive social change. Ruth and I graduated from Wheaton College and I started in the financial services industry in 1993. We live in East Grand Rapids with our children Zinnia and Oskar and are actively pursuing adoption from South Africa. We attend Mars Hill Bible Church, and I serve on the board of The Potter's House School. I am also involved in Sportspower, a youth ministry held at Baxter Community Center.
Growing up the son of a financial advisor certainly piqued my interest in the stock market early on as I purchased my first shares of AT&T and Wendy's at age 12. My official investment career began in 1998. I am proud to serve many good people and greatly value the trust clients place in us to assist in the stewardship of their assets. I graduated from Wheaton College and live in East Grand Rapids with my wife Lindsay and children Morgan, Corby, and Ryer. We attend Mars Hill Bible Church and serve on the committee for Central Grand Rapids Young Life.
Looking back over 47 years in the business, I have most enjoyed the lasting relationships formed with clients. I have always encouraged a realistic approach to investing and believe it is important to take all markets in stride and stay the course over the long term. Midge and I live in Grand Rapids, and we enjoy time spent with our three sons and their families. We have been members of Calvary Church since 1963, and I currently serve on the Advisory Council for Wedgwood Christian Services. Over the years I have served on various boards including the Bible League, Cornerstone University, International Aid, and Spring Arbor University. I attended Wheaton College and graduated from Western Michigan University.
I began my career in the financial services industry in 2005 working for a local bank and have since always been interested in finances and investing in particular. I graduated in 2010 with a B.A. in Marketing from Grand Valley State University. In college, marketing interested me because it was the real world application of uncovering the needs and wants of individuals. Joining the Olsson Investment Group was a great move for me to apply my past experience and to learn new ones. I live in Rockford with my husband where we enjoy doing anything outdoors, from hunting and fishing to mountain biking and snowboarding.
Raymond James is one of the largest independent financial services firms in the United States. Since its beginning in 1962, it has always been a different kind of company – embracing long-term planning and methodical decision-making while staying uncompromisingly client focused. When other firms were simply buying and selling stocks or mutual funds, Raymond James focused on financial planning to help individuals reach their goals. It was the first firm to pioneer that concept – and today it supports its advisors with access to a full range of comprehensive resources, helping them to do the same.
- More than 5,400 financial advisors
- 2 million client accounts
- 2,400 locations (United States, Canada and abroad)

- $35 billion managed by its subsidiary asset managers
Raymond James Financial was recently named the best full-service broker in the 2011 SmartMoney annual broker survey for the third time in four years – ranking above Edward Jones, Wells Fargo, UBS, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
