Dee Weingaertner has been a member of Potomac Financial Group since April 1985, and specializes in assisting clients with tax and long-term-care insurance needs. Patient and persevering, she has an affinity for the intricacies of the financial planning industry, the markets and helping people. Dee handles end-of-life issues and possesses more than 20 years’ experience in tax planning and preparation. Her goal for the group’s clients is to help ensure they have appropriate coverage to enjoy their retirement years.
One aspect of her role at Potomac Financial Group that Dee particularly enjoys is the multi-generational aspect of the firm, which has allowed her and the rest of the team to assist many clients through multiple stages of their lives – from beginning careers and getting married to eventually raising families and retiring. Dee finds the ability to make a positive impact on people’s lives through long-term relationships deeply rewarding.
Prior to joining Potomac Financial Group, Dee worked at the National Security Agency at Naval Security Station, Washington, D.C. She is a 1993 graduate of the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor of Science degree. She holds the Series 7 Securities license, as well as life, health and variable annuity licenses. Additionally, Dee is an enrolled agent (EA) and accredited tax advisor (ATA). Dee is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and Maryland Society of Accountants (MSA). She remains abreast of changes in the tax and insurance industries by regularly attending continuing education courses.
Originally from New Jersey, Dee now calls Columbia, Maryland, home. She has four grown children: Lin, Eric, Dave and Michael. Outside of the office, Dee enjoys home renovation projects, sports, traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
