Since entering the financial services industry in 1973, Larry Grabenstein’s foremost objective has been to help clients prosper and reach their goals while maintaining a sense of peace and balance in their daily lives. To that end, he has spent nearly four decades acting as a resource and educator to those whom he serves. In 1983, he joined Raymond James and established the Potomac Financial Group.

Larry helps individuals, families and business owners plan for sound futures through personal service and objective guidance – a task he was well-prepared to undertake due to his previous career as a high school teacher at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Just as he once taught students the skills they would need to be successful in college and in life, he mentors clients on the dynamic – and challenging – subject of financial planning. And he does so in easy-to-understand terms, avoiding confusing and complex financial jargon.

Larry is a graduate of LaSalle University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree, as well as the University of Maryland, where he completed his Master of Arts degree. He is a Certified Financial Planner professional and has also earned the Chartered Life Underwriter designation (inactive). In the community, he is president of the Maryland Gridiron Network and past president of the University of Maryland Terrapin Club.

A native of Cumberland, Maryland, Larry now divides his time between his homes in Baltimore and Easton with his wife, Cheryl. Larry and Cheryl have four children, Allison, Michael, Kara and Jenna, as well as four grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, golfing and traveling.
