RAYMOND JAMES’ WOMEN’S SYMPOSIUM PROVIDES
CAREER-ENRICHING FORUM FOR ADVISORS

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – More than 110 female financial advisors gathered recently for the 13th Annual Women’s Symposium in St. Petersburg. Hosted by the Raymond James Network for Women Advisors, the three-day event’s business building sessions and networking activities were attended by more than 200 guests.

The symposium kicked off with a welcome reception and dinner in the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club’s Grand Ballroom. The two days that followed provided attendees numerous networking and educational opportunities with breakout sessions and guest speakers marking the agenda.

Speakers included Chet Helck, President and COO, Raymond James Financial (NYSE-RJF); Dennis Zank, President, Raymond James & Associates, Inc., member NYSE/SIPC; Dick Averitt, Chairman & CEO Raymond James Financial Services, member FINRA/SIPC; Dr. Pamela Smith, Owner and Director of the Center for Healthy Living & Longevity; Angela Biever, Managing Director, Intel Corporation and Raymond James board member; and Gayle Dudack, Managing Director of Midwood Securities, among others.

Breakout sessions provided guests with economic outlook updates and useful information on practice management and professional development. A technology lab set up for on-site training provided hands-on demonstrations of useful tools such as the new Client Relationship Manager, the Financial Planning Suite and the Advisor’s Resource Console.

Additionally, various home office departments conducted showcaseswith presenters attending from the Planning Corporation of America, Alternative Investments Group, Marketing, The Trust Companies, Raymond James Bank, Asset Management Services, Investment Banking and Wealth Solutions.

During the event, three top Raymond James’ advisors were recognized for their selection to Barron’s list of the “Top 100 Women Financial Advisors of 2007.” The advisors recognized were Judith McGee and Sherri Stephens of RJFS and Margaret Starner of RJ&A.

The Raymond James Network for Women Advisors plays host to numerous events throughout the year including the Client Connection Series, a sequence of meetings featuring educational presentations and round table discussions held at various locations throughout the country. A Working Smarter Series also is being developed to help advisors break through production plateaus, as well as a coaching group to help identify and overcome roadblocks to success.

Established in 1994, the Network’s goal is to provide advisors with educational and networking opportunities to help grow their practices. The 1st Annual Women’s Symposium was held when a small group of female advisors put on a half-day event with 24 guests. In addition to providing resources and opportunities to current Raymond James advisors, the network also has a goal of attracting experienced female advisors to the firm.

Ten of the 61 members comprising the RJFS’ Chairman’s Council, a collection of some of our most qualified financial advisors, are women and 451 women account for 15% of RJFS’ 3,080 independent advisory network members. Of the 1,062 traditional employee advisors in RJ&A, 124 women make up 12%. Year-to-date, RJFS’ female advisors’ assets grew by 37%, with RJ&A female advisors’ assets increasing by 14%.

The 14th Annual Women’s Symposium will be held from October 1-3, 2008 at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg.
