Building a financial plan tailored specifically

to you

A customized financial plan serves as the “how-to” for pursuing and potentially achieving your goals. Our process gives us an orderly way to identify relevant strategies for moving forward and fully addressing your needs. Here are the basic steps that outline the process we use for building your financial plan.

How we work with you

  • STEP 1

An opportunity to learn about each other

We start with a conversation. Our goal is to gain a good understanding of your needs, goals, current financial situation, investment experience and risk tolerance. Additionally, we use this opportunity to set expectations, explain our investment philosophy and see how it fits with your overall financial picture. Above all, we want to determine if we are a good fit for one another and to find a comfort level for working together. This first step may involve multiple meetings.

  • STEP 2

    Building your financial plan

Next, we will analyze what you’ve shared with us in order to design your plan. This step may include collaborating with your other professional advisors such as your accountant and lawyer. We present our recommendations to you, answer your questions, consider alternatives and outline the steps we need to take to implement your plan.

  • STEP 3

    Putting your plan into action

With your approval, we implement the plan, using our expertise and the extensive research and resources available to us. This involves the selection of specific account types, investments and optional services, and the handling of all paperwork. After we have invested your assets, we schedule a meeting to review what we have done to date and also go over any paperwork, trade confirmations or statements you have received – to make sure you are fully informed about the details of your account.

  • STEP 4

    Monitoring your progress

We continually monitor your progress relative to your defined objectives and recommend any changes when needed. Our intention is to call you every time we want to make a trade on your behalf and to meet with you at least once a year to review your entire investment portfolio and financial plan. Of course, we are always available to meet outside of our scheduled meetings if any questions or needs arise. A key to this step is your involvement and communication of any significant changes in your life.
