About UsRichard W. Schrum is the branch manager and also a registered investment advisor representative. Richard received his bachelor's degree from the School of Business at Northwestern University, a master's degree in Business from George Washington University, and is a graduate of the Naval War College. He has had a successful career as a Naval Officer, specializing in logistics and serving aboard nuclear submarines while raising five children with his wife, Kathleen.
Richard manages money both on a fee-based approach (no commissions) and the traditional commission approach. He has set up many business retirement plans and helps retirees "stretch" their investments to last longer. He also understands the tough issues being faced by the baby boomer generation and the type of planning needed for the future. His clientele range from retirees protecting and growing their assets to younger people just starting with their first investments.
As part of his personal commitment to Jacksonville and the surrounding areas, Richard is an active member of the Jacksonville Kiwanis Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Onslow Association of Retired Officers, the Military Officers Association, and a lifetime member of the VFW. Richard has been helping the people of Onslow County for the past 13 years.
Prior to joining the Raymond James team, Richard started at an Edward Jones office in Jacksonville. Richard’s hobbies include researching investments, remodeling houses, and canoeing. He and his wife, Kathleen, reside in a historic home built in 1850 located in the Catherine Lake area of Richlands, North Carolina. | Richard J. Richard has 9 years of experience in the financial services industry, beginning as a retirement planning specialist at AXA Advisors and then as a financial advisor with New York Life. Richard holds a Series 7 securities license and Series 66 State Securities and Investment Advisor Representative or Agent License. He also holds a Series 24 General Securities Principal license.
Richard has worked closely with individuals and small businesses with retirement plans, investments, and customized risk management solutions. He has helped his clients over the years achieve their goals with creative solutions and strong financial planning.
Recently, Richard and his girlfriend have become engaged and they both are looking forward to settling down in the Wilmington area. | Bridget Haag is our office manager here at Raymond James Financial since July 2005. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Bridget formerly taught elementary school for five years in Onslow County at Sand Ridge Elementary. She also received her education in the field of Dyslexia from the University of San Diego, California. There she received graduate-level training to diagnose and tutor dyslexic individuals. When Bridget is not working in the office, she is offering services to dyslexic students through her company, Closing the Gap, LLC. Closing the Gap, LLC is not affiliated with Raymond James.
| Andrew, his wife April, and their two sons, Aidan, and Alec moved to Brunswick County, North Carolina from Charlotte in 2001. While in Charlotte he was employed by Lutheran Brotherhood / Thrivent Financial as a registered representative serving the Charlotte area. Andrew's former career was aviation maintenance technician for Air Methods Corporation in Denver Colorado. During his eleven years in the industry Andrew operated as the Medevac Helicopter Technician at level one trauma centers including, Washington D.C., Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
In 1999 following the birth of his first son Aidan, Andrew decided to make a career change and become Financial Advisor. Andrew holds a Series 7 securities license and Series 66 State Securities and Investment Advisor Representative or Agent License. Additionally, he is licensed to offer Variable Annuity, Life Insurances, and Long Term Care Products. Andrew specializes in 401K rollovers, proper asset allocation, and diversifying client assets through proper planning.
Currently, Andrew serves his community, the Raymond James clients and Winding River Plantation / Carolina National Golf Club where he is a member. He is active with his family as a certified soccer and baseball coach. Andrew serves on the Board of Directors for Southport Christian School and he also serves on the Board for his church, Generations Church of Brunswick County. Andrew and his wife April enjoy volunteering each Sunday in the children's program at church. Additionally, they spend most of their time with Aidan and Alec, boating, swimming, or just enjoying the beaches and coastal area of Brunswick County.
