Neighbors In Need

Dear Business Leaders, Community Members & Old Saybrook Residents:

Most of us were greatly inconvenienced by the power outages and flooding caused by Hurricane Irene.  However, some of our neighbors continue to be greatly affected and they need our help.

I feel fortunate.  I can afford to restock my refrigerator after being forced to throw away all the perishables that went bad due to four days without electricity.  Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to do the same.  People in our community continue to not have power and some lack the resources to take their families to local restaurants for a meal.

I would like to help and I hope you will too.  Please join me by participating in our newly launched Neighbors In Need program.  My firm, Saybrook Wealth Group Inc., will get the ball rolling by providing $1,000 in matching funds.  For every dollar you or your company donates we will donate a dollar (up to $1,000 total). The end result:  $2,000 will go to help those in need of assistance.

Monetary donations can be made to the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce and will be used to purchase Chamber Dollar Gift Certificates.  These Gift Certificates will be distributed to neighbors in need by Old Saybrook Youth & Family Services and can be used at participating grocery stores, restaurants and retailers.

Please make me spend all $1,000! I also challenge my fellow business leaders to add to the matching fund program.

I have been amazed by the community we live in over the last few days.  After Irene passed through I have witnessed a community coming together as we have all persevered to collectively get back to our normal routines.  Please join me in helping our Neighbors In Need.
