Some features on the Raymond James Financial website, such as viewing video clips and reading research reports, require special software. All of the required software is free and is available via download from the software providers’ websites. Below is a listing of the applications you may need, as well as links to the download sites. The software listed below will generally need to be downloaded and installed on your computer only once.


Adobe Acrobat Reader

The Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free, industry-standard application used for reading Portable Document Files (PDFs). It allows you to view and read Raymond James research reports, financial reports and other documents.

This software will need to be downloaded and installed on your computer only once. It will open automatically when prompted by an associated file or document you wish to view.

Get Macromedia Flash PlayerAdobe Flash Player

The free Adobe Flash Player allows you to view certain types of animation and multimedia with your Internet browser.

Flash content on the Raymond James website requires the Flash 9 Player plug-in. Earlier versions of the Flash Player plug-in may not work properly when attempting to access Flash content.

The Flash Player Plug-in is a Adobe product. If you encounter any technical difficulties during installation or during normal usage, the Flash Player help page can be found at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/.

This software will need to be downloaded and installed on your computer only once. It will open automatically when prompted by an associated file or document you wish to view.

This download should take about 1 minute with a 56.6 kbps Internet connection.

The media players listed below can be used to play multimedia content on the Raymond James Financial website, including audio, video, and interactive presentations.

Audio clips on the Raymond James Financial website can be heard with a 14.4 kbps modem or faster connection. Video clips on the Raymond James Financial website are optimized for users with a 56.6 kbps modem or faster connection. Users with slower Internet connections can view the clips, but may encounter less than adequate performance. In general, users with faster computers and faster Internet connections will enjoy better performance when accessing any audio, video or multimedia clips offered on the Internet.

QuickTime Player

QuickTime is a free application that allows you to play video and audio content on the Internet.

There is a free version of QuickTime and a $29.99 version of QuickTime available for download from the Apple website. You will only need the free version of QuickTime to fully access the audio and video clips on the Raymond James website. To obtain the free version, you will need to fill out the information under the heading "Download the Free Player," on the QuickTime download page on the Apple website.

This software will need to be downloaded and installed on your computer only once. It will open automatically when prompted by an associated file or document you wish to view. 

In the future, when you use your QuickTime application, it will occasionally offer you updates for the software. Updates are free and you can choose to download these updates at your discretion. You may also see an "Upgrade to QuickTime Pro" advertisement on your screen. Upgrading to QuickTime Pro costs $29.99 and is not needed for playing media clips on our website. 

You will never need to give out your credit card number or personal information for free updates.
