Helping business owners build upon their success

As the owner of a business, you know all about hard work and commitment. You’ve overcome challenges and achieved much along the way. Naturally, you want someone who is equally committed to your success when it comes to financial advice and guidance.

That’s where we come in. As independent financial advisors and entrepreneurs ourselves, we understand the challenges business owners face and have helped many new, growing and established businesses thrive.

We understand the challenges business owners face.”

Above all, we recognize your business is unique. Working with you as a partner, we will take the time to understand your goals and help you address a wide variety of issues, including asset protection, cash management, company retirement plans, insurance, financing, succession planning and, of course, your own retirement.

In addition to our own experience and financial knowledge, we have access to the resources of Raymond James, one of America’s leading independent financial services firms. Best of all, you’ll enjoy the confidence of knowing you have a single, trusted source for financial advice – and more time to devote to running and building your business.

A client scenario: Joe, a baby-boomer business owner

Joe had a successful public company that he established and built up over many years. He now wanted to take the company private and cash out.

What we would do: Since many of Joe’s family members and long-time employees had stock in the company, we would help locate all the shares, then work with each shareholder to develop a plan for investing the proceeds. Since several generations of family were represented, we would be sensitive to the specific needs of their different life stages. We would also look closely at their other assets to help mitigate the capital gains that would be generated by this windfall.

A client scenario: Tom, a millennial business owner

Tom is an entrepreneur who launched his own online startup. As with many growing businesses, liquidity was a big issue for him.

What we would do: Since Tom already had a sizeable portfolio, we would recommend a Securities Based Line of Credit* to help him raise the capital he needed to run and grow his business. It was also flexible enough to meet almost any of his financing needs. The loan would be collateralized by securities within his Raymond James brokerage account, giving Tom increased borrowing power at highly competitive pricing. As a result, could have the liquidity he needed to hire more employees and expand his business.

*A Securities Based Line of Credit may not be suitable for all clients. Borrowing on securities-based lending products and using securities as collateral may involve a high degree of risk. Market conditions can magnify any potential for loss. If the market turns against the client, he or she may be required to deposit additional securities and/or cash in the account(s) or pay down the loan. The securities in the pledged account(s) may be sold to meet the collateral call, and the firm can sell the client’s securities without contacting them. The interest rates charged are determined by the market value of pledged assets and the net value of the client’s Capital Access account.
