Community Involvement

At Griffis, MacClary & Halbert we believe in participating and investing in our community.

Wakeboarding in Windermere

In 2004, Glyn and businessman Peter Fleck established the Windermere WakeFest, as part of Rotary Club of Windermere's Festival Among the Lakes, which includes many of the top wakeboarders in the world. The event has greatly enhanced the fundraising of the festival, which has donated over $500,000 to local charities, including the Home at Last Project, since the inception of the WakeFest.

Oakland Heritage Festival

In cooperation with the Oakland Nature Preserve and the St. Johns Water Management District, Glyn has provided the boats, personnel and also captained tours of Lake Apopka during the Oakland Heritage Festival. The tours educate the community on the benefits of the Oakland Nature Preserve and the measures being taken to clean up Lake Apopka.

Teach-In

Knowing that each and every child in our school system needs to learn basic financial skills, J.R. volunteered for the Orange County Public Schools Teach-In event. He spoke to students at Timber Creek High School about budgeting, avoiding credit card debt, scholarships and student loans. The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, Inc. was established in 1987 to bring together community resources to ensure a quality public education for every student and to enhance learning-enriched opportunities and experiences for every child.
