Steve and his wife, Shelly, enjoy being involved in the community. They are active members of Blue Springs Christian Church and the Friends of Powell Gardens. They support local sports organizations including the Blue Springs Girls Softball Association and FCA Baseball.
Steve serves on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Heartland Financial Concepts. He also participates in the support program PARTNERS for Character That Counts, a non-profit organization that teaches life principles of Character, Integrity and Accountability.
Steve's other affiliations include the Blue Springs' Chamber of Commerce and the Financial Services Institute.
