Our Investment Philosophy It has been our experience that investment success is usually determined by a steadfast commitment to a core of clearly defined investment principles. Collectively, the principles listed below define our investment philosophy.
Our Investment Process Accomplishing our clients’ financial goals is the result of having a process by which we manage critical decisions. It is our responsibility as investment advisors to help our clients make these decisions most effectively. We utilize a disciplined process called Total Portfolio Planning. The process is made up of four distinct phases. → → → Phase 1: Discovery The objective of Phase 1 is to gather information about our client. In the discovery meeting, we discuss each client’s goals, values and attitudes about money. We review current financial statements and establish the framework for the Total Portfolio Planning Process. Phase 2: Strategy In Phase 2, we develop an Investment Strategy Proposal – a comprehensive proposal that analyzes the existing portfolio and outlines recommendations for developing the long-term strategy. Phase 3: Implementation The goal of this phase is to implement our investment strategy successfully. We develop an Investment Policy Statement – a blueprint that clearly defines your investment goals and objectives and the investment strategies that will be used to help achieve them. After developing the Investment Policy Statement, we begin the Investment or Investment Manager Search to find the most appropriate selection. Once completed, we present a list of suitable investments or private money managers for consideration during the Investment Selection Meeting. Once the investments or managers have been agreed upon, we then rebalance the current portfolio to make it consistent with the long-term investment strategy. Phase 4: Monitoring Once the strategy has been implemented, one of our key responsibilities is to monitor every aspect of the client’s investment program. This is an ongoing process to ensure that every action taken in the client’s account is correct and consistent with his/her Investment Policy Statement. Another core element of the monitoring process is the Portfolio Review Meeting. This periodic meeting keeps the client abreast of all matters regarding his/her investment plan. In this meeting, we address portfolio performance as well as recent developments in the financial markets. The final step in the Total Portfolio Planning Process is the Annual Review Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to conduct a comprehensive review of the client’s investment plan to ensure that we are on course to meet the client’s goals and objectives. Any changes in the client’s financial situation are taken into consideration. Consequent adjustments to the current investment strategy are discussed and implemented as appropriate. We welcome your call! We would be happy to discuss your situation or answer any questions that you might have. We would like to be the team you choose!
