A Wealth Management Specialist, Greg is one of the original partners who formed the Brechnitz Group in 1997. His goal for our clients is to create an understanding of what they need to do in order to accomplish their goals, and then helping them with a workable path for achieving them. He believes in the value of always being candid with clients, and taking the time to explain the benefits and risks of their investments.

Greg manages the business of our group and is a lead on managing client relationships. He has more than 20 years of technical experience in writing, amending and administering retirement plans. He is responsible for screening, tracking, and reviewing mutual funds for individual, institutional and retirement plan accounts, as well as in reviewing and monitoring annuity and alternative products.

After receiving his bachelor's degree in accounting from Millikin University, Greg earned his CPA designation and served as a senior tax specialist for KPMG Peat Marwick. He also held the position of vice president, senior trust officer in charge of employee benefit plans at First of America Trust Company. He has been a member of the Raymond James Chairman's Council* for multiple years since 2007.

He is a past president of the Millikin University alumni association and a past treasurer of the YMCA board of directors. Today, he volunteers with the YMCA youth soccer and volleyball program.

Greg was born and raised in Decatur, where he lives today with his wife, Linda, and daughters, Courtney and Alexandria. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching sports and playing golf. 

*Membership in the Chairman's Council is based mainly on assets under management, education, credentials and fiscal year production. Re-qualification is required annually. Prior membership is no assurance of future membership.
