As a Wealth Management Specialist and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, Wally’s goal is to help clients not only achieve their financial objectives, but to make this journey as smooth as possible. Working closely with Erik Brechnitz, WMS, he helps establish and manage the allocation parameters for most of our institutional clients, as well as for our CorePlus portfolios.

Wally applies his more than 25 years of investment industry experience to analyzing potential equity opportunities and coordinating the team’s market strategy. With a primary focus on asset allocation, Wally’s inquisitive disposition and diligent research techniques help bring valuable insight to our team’s investment strategies.

Wally began his financial services career in 1986, became one of our original team members, and joined Raymond James in 2006. He has been a member of the Raymond James Chairman's Council* from 2007 - 2014. The Financial Times named Wally to its inaugural list of the top 400 financial advisors in the U.S in 2013**. Previously, he served as a senior vice president of investments with Morgan Stanley and earned a bachelor's degree in agri-business from Illinois State University.

Active in many community organizations over the years, Wally has served as president of The Children’s Museum of Illinois, on the boards of the Decatur Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Mt. Zion Education Foundation, and as an elder and deacon for the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. In addition, he volunteers with the Marquette High School football program.

Originally from Muncie, Indiana, Wally now lives in Chesterfield, Missouri, with his wife, Dana. They have a son, Cayden. When not working, Wally enjoys writing and has published two books, Season of Change and When Someone You Know Loses a Child. In his free time, he also enjoys upland bird hunting and has recently become “hooked” on trout fishing.
