Giving Back

and supporting our community

We're proud to be part of our area's rich history, heritage and resources – an idyllic place where we've laid down roots, built our careers and raised our families. Supporting our community and giving back are integral parts of who we are, so we choose to participate in many charitable organizations throughout our community. Here are some of the organizations we've served, both past and present.

"My grandmother graduated from Nardin Academy in 1915. Our children started here in the fifth and sixth grades. We were very impressed with how they have matured during their middle school years. We felt compelled to become more involved.”
– Peter Walsh

"Our daughter will be a senior at Nardin Academy in the fall of 2015. I value the mission of school and the Daughters of the Heart of Mary. It has been my privilege to support Nardin Academy by serving as chairperson of the investment committee, treasurer of the board, and a member of numerous committees. I am now starting my second term as a board member."

"I started on the board of the Kenmore Mercy Hospital Foundation in memory of my mother, who served as a medical staff secretary at the hospital and passed away at just 57. I wanted to give back to the hospital, as it was very helpful to my mother as she battled cancer. I have served on its board and numerous committees. Together with my husband, Peter, I chaired the annual auction and helped raise funds for the new emergency room."

"Several years ago, we wanted to instill the act of giving back in our children, so we decided to get them involved in charities and volunteering. We volunteered through Hospice’s Paint Box Project during the Christmas holiday and helped to sell items painted by patients at the mall. One lady gave our daughter Katie $10 as a donation and both kids were amazed. The time we spent as a family interacting with the public was invaluable for all of us and we were able to help an important cause in the community at the same time."

"I spent a number of years tutoring for Literacy Volunteers and working with prospective families for Habitat for Humanity. Both organizations allowed me the opportunity to help people in Buffalo take a step forward in bettering their lives."

"Once my children were born, I focused my volunteer efforts on fundraising for Tapestry Charter School. Tapestry offers families a choice in free education and therefore I felt strongly that, as a family in the school, we should do all we could to support this effort."

"I have also volunteered at The Bash, an annual fundraising event held by Buffalo’s American Red Cross chapter. All proceeds from The BASH stay here to support the American Red Cross Serving Erie and Niagara Counties’ mission of preventing, preparing for and responding to disaster in Western New York."

"Annually, I choose an organization to pair with to give back to the community for Raymond James Cares month (August). For our first year, we chose the Allentown Association of Buffalo. Since we were a new business in the community, we chose to help clean up the streets as a team and worked side by side with some of our new neighbors."
