Karen D. Crain, CPA/CFF, CVA

Tax Manager


A native of Melbourne, Karen has been with Whittaker Cooper for over 22 years. As Tax Manager, she supervises the flow of tax information for the office. Karen also performs business valuations, provides litigation support and handles the IRS and State of Florida audit representation for the firm.

Karen has more than 36 years of experience as an accounting professional, 29 of which have been in public accounting. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rollins College in 1993. She is a licensed CPA in the State of Florida, holds a certificate as a Certified Valuation Analyst from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and is Certified in Financial Forensics from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Karen is a member of the Business Valuation and Forensic & Litigation Services Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the Valuation, Forensic Accounting, and Litigation Services Section of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Active in serving the community, Karen has been a member of the Rockledge Rotary Club since 1996, and has held the positions of president, treasurer and director at large. She is President of the Brevard County Estate Planning Council and Treasurer of the Space Coast Center for Mothers with Children. She is a past advisory council member of the North Central Brevard Salvation Army and the Brevard County Advisory Council for the Central and Northern Florida Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

In her spare time, Karen likes to read, shop and travel.

Teresa “Bonnie” Chambers, CPA

Tax Manager


Caring and understanding, Bonnie is a Certified Public Accountant who enjoys working with people and assisting them with their accounting and tax questions and needs. She finds tax management to be an interesting and challenging career and strives to help clients arrive at the most tax-efficient solutions.

Before joining our team in 2004, Bonnie was a tax manager at another local firm, where she managed the firm and the workflow of its projects. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rollins College and an MBA from University of Central Florida, graduating summa cum laude from both.

Originally from Tennessee, Bonnie lives in Rockledge, Florida, with her husband, Patrick. They have two children, Sarah and Donald. In her free time, Bonnie enjoys reading, hiking and motorcycle riding. She also enjoyed her time serving as a board member of the Space Coast Volunteers in Medicine.

Richard D. Sutter, CPA

Audit Manager


Rich is an audit manager for Whittaker & Cooper, P.A. and serves as team leader and manager for the performance of audits, financial reviews, compilations and other financial reporting. His goal is to provide accurate, high-quality services for our clients.

He has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, and specializes in the performance of audits and financial reviews of nonpublic companies, not-for-profit organizations, homeowner and condominium owner associations, as well as auto dealerships and continuing care retirement communities. Rich also provides individuals and businesses with income tax planning advice and preparation.

He is a licensed CPA in the State of Florida and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs. Rich earned a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany, and a postgraduate certificate in accounting from Hofstra University.

Originally from Hicksville, New York, Rich lives in Melbourne with his wife and four children. In his free time, he enjoys wood turning and participating in various volunteer projects. He is the president and past treasurer of the Rotary Club of Eau Gallie and treasurer of Hope Lutheran Church.
