As a sixth generation Idahoan, I tend to do things a little differently. We take a neighborhood approach to retirement planning. We don’t win golf tournaments, disdain fancy charts and don’t use intimidating investment terms. We like to keep things simple, tend to listen more than we talk, emphasize communication and provide honest, straight forward answers. We think it is important to plan for your financial needs, invest long term and be mindful of investment fees.
Our typical clients are baby boomers working hard to retire in the next couple years and many are women. They enjoy our wholistic approach to coordinating investments, tax planning and estate planning. We also believe in education about our markets, investing and importance of financial planning.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Idaho, and am an Accredited Asset Management Specialist.
We emphasize long term investing to make sure you sleep well, regardless of market behavior. We make investment recommendations based on your unique needs, while emphasizing:

Kelly is very involved in his community and serves on the YMCA Strong Kids Board, Women’s Shelter and Ada County Animal shelter. When not working, he enjoys skiing, tennis and the greenbelt. Kelly and Cathy Jo, have a blended family including four children, Amy, Ryan, Christopher, Johnny “Rocket” and our beloved long haired Dachshund Jessie.
Jennifer is a Treasure Valley native. She began her career as a Financial Associate with AG Edwards & Sons in 2004. She joined Raymond James in 2009, and became part of the Wood Financial Group in 2013. Jennifer works closely with Kelly to address client’s needs, and is the primary point of contact for client account questions or concerns.
Jennifer coaches the local 'Ghostbusters' floor hockey team for the Special Olympics of Southwest Idaho.
In her spare time Jennifer enjoys a round of golf, a game of tennis, hitting the slopes and hiking in the Boise foothills.
Julie joined Wood Financial Group in 2014. She serves an integral role on our client service team. Julie is likely to be the person you first meet or speak with when contacting our office.
In her spare time, Julie enjoys making counted cross stitch items, bicycling with her husband, Russ, on their tandem, and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and the Idaho Shakespeare Festival.
