Passionate about helping others and wanting to return to Texas, Forest Busby Jr. moved to The Woodlands in 2006 and began his financial advisory practice. Since then, he has helped many individuals and families in the Houston metropolitan area develop and implement plans to live the life they envision, both before and during retirement. Forest has a major focus on multi-generational wealth creation and preservation as most of his clients have a strong desire to leave a legacy for future generations.

Forest’s varied and extensive professional experience enables him to work with many clients who have never before used a financial advisor. He often shares his investment philosophy with these individuals by paraphrasing a Warren Buffet quote, “Be brave when others are fearful and fearful when others are brave.” Forest is very proud of his clients that invested during the 2007-2008 downturn and built wealth as a result of their courage.

A chemical engineer by training, Forest enjoyed the detailed work required in engineering but missed the personal interaction. His approach to advising centers around creating a practice that consists of “friends and family”. A potential client may walk into his office as a stranger, but they leave as a friend. Forest’s goal is to build such strong relationships that he is viewed as a trusted family member.

Long-term and deep relationships are recurring themes in all aspects of Forest’s life. He returned to his native Houston because of family and moved his advisory practice to Woodforest so clients could benefit from the full range of services offered by this close-knit group of financial professionals. When not in the office, Forest enjoys spending time outdoors and barbecuing, where he is often surrounded by family and close friends.

Forest’s background includes 11+ years spent at other investment firms and Series 7, 63 and 66 registrations. Forest has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware.

Why Woodforest Financial Services?

Our advisors act as our clients’ personal wealth managers. These individuals and companies can expect to find a team of professionals who care about their financial success and who are committed to helping with their financial goals and objectives.

We are an independent firm, which means we are influenced by our client’s specific goals and our own experience and research.

We tell our clients the truth, even if they do not want to hear it. We do not say we will do something we cannot. Likewise, we do not tell a client we will do something and then not do it.
