ZG of Texas Supports Clubs through Thanksgiving Cards

As a long-time fan and former president of the Club board, I have always had a passion for the Boys & Girls Club movement. This is just another small way for me to stay involved with the kids. Our support will continue both in money and time. I encourage everyone to take on a “selfish” project as we have.
We decided three years ago to start this tradition of Thanksgiving cards for our clients, trying to be different. The idea morphed into having kids do the artwork for us and rewarding them. It all started out as a selfish way to tug on the hearts of our clients, which quickly began to tug on our hearts. I believe that we actually enjoy this whole event more than the kids, and our clients love the cards.

Thanksgiving Card Art Contest - August 15, 2008
We held an art contest for all kids ages 6-8 to create our Thanksgiving card. The winner received a $100 gift card to Target and a pizza party for their branch. Also, because there were so many great choices, we had an honorable mention recipient who received a $25 gift card to Target.
