Michael Cooney Bio Image
Michael Cooney, CRPC® Financial Advisor

Guiding others through the critical choices in their life is a passion of mine. Earlier in life as an athlete, I was fortunate to have some wonderful coaches and mentors that helped guide and shape me. Similarly, my goal is to guide my clients at the critical junctures in their lives so they can experience success in achieving their goals.

I follow a fiduciary standard, meaning I am committed to putting your needs first and implementing strategies that are in your best interest. Every client brings a different set of objectives to the table, and I use a holistic and flexible approach to help create and implement plans. I absolutely love my job and the relationships I’ve been able to build over the last 13 years with my clients through this process.

Over the years, I have worked extensively with employees of many of the local tech firms. I take a particular interest in the importance of diversification of concentrated stock holdings in an effort to minimize their risk and tax consequences over time.

The dedication to the services I provide, coupled with the success of my clients has earned me several notable acco- lades in the investment industry, including recognition by Bank Investment Consultant Magazine in its annual Top Financial Advisors ranking.

Born and raised in Washington, I am an avid Mariners, Seahawks and Husky fan. I am the father of four children and I love to spend as much time with my family as possible. I enjoy wakeboarding in the summer, skiing in the winter, coaching youth sports and volunteering for occasional adventures with the Boys Scouts of America year round.

Bank Investment Consultant’s Top 100 Advisor List: To compile the list, multiple variables were combined into one composite score. The six categories used are: (1) Assets under management; (2) Trailing-12 month production; (3) Percentage increase in AUM from the previous year; (4) Percentage increase in T-12 production; (5) Amount of fee business; and (6) The ratio of production-per-AUM. The nominees were ranked by each of the six categories and then six different scores were calculated based on where they ranked. Those six scores were used to compile the final list. The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience, is not an endorsement, and is not indicative of the advisor’s future performance.
