Bill Counsman

Bill’s commitment is to work with each branch manager to assist them in the challenges they face in running an investment practice as a business. Bill has found his niche is building and growing relationships with financial advisors. As division director, he is working to help branch managers resolve questions or concerns affecting their businesses in addition to advising them on the direction they should consider taking in the future development of their practices.

Bill is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in business administration. He has completed the Securities Industry Institute program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, has Series 7, 24, 63, life, health and disability insurance licenses and is a Registered Corporate Coach^™. Since joining Raymond James in 1991, Bill has gained extensive knowledge about the firm by working in various home office departments before spending more than a decade as a business development consultant for the Independent Contractors Division (ICD) platform. In his prior position, Bill contributed significantly to the growth of the RJFS branch network by helping many of the finest financial advisors in the industry successfully move their practices to the firm.

Becoming a division director in 2007, Bill continues to be a resource for many of the financial advisors he helped bring to RJFS and every other branch office in the Western Division. He is dedicated to the well-being of every advisor to ensure they get the most of their relationship with Raymond James and reach their goals for themselves, teams, families and communities. He is married to his wife, Stephanie, and they have two children, Delaney and Aidan. Delaney is at Florida State University and Aidan enters University of Florida this summer after graduating from high school. In Florida, they call this the house divided, however, both Delaney and Aidan support each other.
