When your job entails consulting and advising others; experience is an excellent teacher. David has spent his career in the financial services industry working directly with clients and advisors. He frequently refers to his own experience in growing a book, setting-up and managing an office, and cultivating the growth of a business.
Knowing regulation and compliance issues puts David on a solid footing when supervising advisors who must deal from time-to-time with client complaints or problems. Business owners must be aware of all of today’s risks and be equally aware of the availability of solutions. One way to make sure everyone is informed about the most important issues facing branch offices is to share ideas among the best advisors. David sees his role as a facilitator, using forums and small meetings to connect talented people. “We want our advisors to be independent, not isolated,” he says.
A graduate of Florida State University, with a bachelor’s degree in finance, David joined Raymond James Financial Services in 2004 after a 15-year career at Banc of America Investment Services. He has served as Regional Sr. Vice President of the Midwest region since January 2005.
