Káon Nelson, CFP®, is a financial advisor based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. He knows when and how to use the variety of tools available at Raymond James to help his clients realize their goals. Having worked with numerous affluent individuals and families, Káon understands the unique financial risks they face and helps them prepare for and manage those risks.
Káon believes that comprehensive wealth planning is the basis of a sound plan. He works closely with each of his clients to devise a customized long-term, purpose-driven investment process through asset allocation and portfolio diversification emphasizing non-correlation of assets. Guided by a discovery process that asks clients thought-provoking questions to uncover their deepest concerns and needs, Káon employs an exhaustive due diligence process that uses the firm’s research and expertise in fixed income, equities and alternative investments.
Káon is a graduate of the class of 2000 from the University of Baltimore. Káon began his career in the financial services industry in 2004 with Legg Mason which, after a series of acquisitions, became Morgan Stanley. He joined Morgan Keegan in 2011 and remained with Raymond James after Raymond James acquired Morgan Keegan in April of 2012. Recognizing the importance of credentialing, in 2009 Káon pursued and attained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™* certification, which has specific education, experience and ethical requirements. In 2019, Kaon earned the internal title of Investment Management Consultant after completing a rigorous course of study.
