Marta Shen, JD, CPA, CFP®

Senior Vice President, Wealth Management
Georgia, Washington

Marta was born in Argentina to Taiwanese parents and immigrated to the U.S. as a young girl, settling in and spending her formative years in NYC.

She has 20 years’ experience as a financial advisor and founded Spring Street Financial of Raymond James in Atlanta where she is Senior Vice President of Wealth Management.

Marta’s professional background as a Certified Public Accountant, Attorney, and Certified Financial Planner™* professional help provide a deeper appreciation of the complexity of a client's financial framework. Tax planning is critical in this framework, as it is not what you earn, but what you keep and utilize wisely, that matters. Financial planning is analogous to solving a puzzle. The question to be answered is, “How do you balance your resources and your desires to live a full life?” The key is really listening to clients and, together, devising a game plan they can live with that honors what they are seeking—being on track for a secure retirement, buying a second home, taking care of parents, planning a career change, or any other goals that make life meaningful and rich. Her mission is to empower clients to realize their best self and live a life fulfilled through a trusted advisory relationship. Guiding clients to make decisions that improve their financial well-being and seeing the positive result is satisfying and rewarding.

One thing that differentiates Marta from many other financial consultants, on the consulting side, is the experience she has with real estate investment analysis. In addition to reviewing real estate investments in terms of portfolio allocation, she has a personal passion for real estate investing having personally been involved in over two dozen real estate transactions as an investor.

She is a firm believer in giving back professionally and personally. In addition to serving in the Raymond James Women’s Advisory Council, she is the Past President of the Financial Planning Association of Georgia, serves on the National OneFPA Advisory Board, is a board member of the American Women’s Society of CPAs Georgia Chapter, and has taught tax planning and financial planning as an adjunct instructor in the Certified Financial Planner program at Oglethorpe University. Personally, she enjoys volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievement locally and doing humanitarian missions internationally which have taken her to Myanmar, India and Colombia.

When she is not working with her clients or professional community she enjoys cooking, yoga, running, exploring new labyrinths to walk, visiting her favorite place in the world, Vancouver, B.C, and spending time with her partner Carrie and two young sons Matthew and Richard.
