Raymond James Investment Advisors Division welcomes a new team in Northville, Michigan
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Bill Van Law, president of Raymond James Investment Advisors Division (IAD) announced the affiliation of Great Lakes Wealth, an independent advisory firm based in Northville, Michigan. The team is led by managing partners Dewey D. Steffen, CEO, and Michael P. Hartman, COO. They are joined by Director of Operations and registered associate Carmela Eastin.
Before affiliating with Raymond James, the team was with UBS Financial Services where they managed approximately $150 million in client assets.

Steffen has more than 20 years of investment management experience, having begun his financial services career in 1995. He later served as vice president and retirement planning specialist at Citigroup Smith Barney before joining UBS in 2007, where he became a first vice president, investments and portfolio manager for the firm. In addition to completing a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan, Steffen earned a fellowship and studied at the Ludwig von Mises Institute of Economics on the campus of Auburn University. His main areas of focus include global financial management and comprehensive wealth management.
Hartman has more than 17 years of investment management experience having begun his career with Scottrade in 1998 in Alaska. Later, he served as a financial advisor with JP Morgan Chase and as vice president, investments and portfolio manager at UBS. He attended Michigan State University where he majored in finance. Hartman focuses on asset allocation and total portfolio management, while overseeing day-to-day operations.
