Raymond James Recruits $300 Million Team in Rochester, New York
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Veteran financial advisors Keith Bock, CFP®, Mark O. Downey, II, CIMA®, and Jason Peterson, CRPC®, recently joined the Rochester, New York, office of Raymond James & Associates (RJA) managed by Jeff Wolk, according to John Kuklenski, Northern divisional director for RJA – the firm’s traditional employee broker/dealer.
The trio, former Wells Fargo advisors who managed more than $300 million in client assets and had almost $2 million in production, will operate as BDP Wealth Management of Raymond James. They are joined by Senior Registered Client Service Associate Janet Emhof.
“I’ve been in this business nearly four decades,” stated Bock, “and over the years, as the names on the door changed, so did the culture. When we visited Raymond James it felt like the old days again, with a pronounced focus on supporting advisors so we can serve our clients. Plus, I have known our branch manager Jeff Wolk for years, and trust him to help us transition smoothly and then continue to support our expected growth with Raymond James.”
“Once we decided to look around,” added Downey, “we knew we wanted a smaller firm that would provide us more flexibility, more access, more responsiveness and would likely remind us of how it used to be. Yet, we wanted a firm that would also provide a multitude of resources, sophisticated research and investment management, and the latest technology. We have found all that here at Raymond James. We only intend to move once – and we couldn’t be happier with the advisor-focused support and service-first attitude of everyone we have encountered.”
Senior Vice President of Investments Bock began his financial services career in 1978 at Bache, where he remained for the next 39 years as the firm became Prudential, Wachovia and finally Wells Fargo Advisors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, and his MBA in finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional.
Senior Vice President of Investments Downey began his financial services career in 1991 with Prudential-Bache which ultimately became Wells Fargo Advisors. At Wells he was recognized as a premier advisor from 2015-2017*. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and holds the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM designation.
Vice President of Investments Peterson began his career in 2004 with Merrill Lynch in its financial advisor training program and moved to Wells Fargo two years later. In 2008, he joined the team with Bock and Downey. Prior to his financial services career, Peterson spent 11 years in the United States Army: four years active duty followed by seven years in the National Guard. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in finance from St. John Fisher College.
“We are so pleased to welcome Keith, Mark, Jason and Janet to Raymond James,” said Wolk. “They’re well-respected in the Rochester community and they consistently deliver a high level of customer service, dedication and professionalism to their clientele. I worked with Keith and Mark at the outset of my career at Prudential-Bache Securities and I’m honored to be their colleague once again. Raymond James shares their values and is the perfect fit for this team.”
