Raymond James & Associates Recognizes Complex and Branch Manager of the Year
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Tash Elwyn, president of Raymond James & Associates (RJA), Private Client Group, recognized Tony Barrett of the Delaware Valley Complex and Clifford Foster of the Richmond, Virginia, branch as RJA’s 2017 Complex and Branch Manager of the Year, respectively. Elwyn announced the winners at the broker/dealer’s annual branch managers meeting, held January 9 in Tampa, Florida.
“It is my distinct pleasure to recognize Tony and Clifford, two of our top leaders within RJA, with this award,” said Elwyn. “In addition to successfully building their businesses, they are great mentors and role models who exemplify our core values of client first, conservatism, independence and integrity every day. They inspire their financial advisors and branch associates, provide best-in-class support, and have been an important part of RJA’s continued growth in 2017.”
Barrett, who joined Raymond James in 2009, consistently achieves firm-leading results in recruiting, retention, risk management and profitability. In 2017, he recruited four financial advisors with more than $830 million in assets under management and $5.45 million in production. Barrett is just as diligent when it comes to creating a quality work environment for his team and advisors and managing risk. In addition to his involvement with his team, he also leads the Raymond James Black Financial Advisors Network, which supports black professionals in developing their careers and building their businesses, and completed a two-year term serving on RJA’s Executive Council, a select group that works with leadership on key growth and change management topics.
“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all the Delaware Valley Complex,” said Barrett. “I have the pleasure of working with a wonderful group of financial advisors and branch associates, who are supported by the tireless efforts of our branch and operations managers and the complex leadership team. I want to thank my friends and colleagues in the Potomac Complex, where I got my start at Raymond James. I also want to thank our firm’s senior leaders for staying committed to maintaining the Raymond James culture amid industry changes and as the firm continues to grow.”
Foster, a branch manager from Richmond, Virginia, originally joined Raymond James through Morgan Keegan, which the firm acquired in 2012. He recruited 13 of the 16 financial advisors in the downtown Richmond office, and in 2017 alone he hired seven financial advisors with more than $7.5 million in production. Foster serves on the Raymond James Technology Advisory Committee and RJA Executive Council. Not only is he a leader within the firm, but he is also committed to being a leader in his community, serving on several local committees and boards.
“Being recognized as Branch Manager of the Year is a reflection of the great team we have in place in Richmond and at the home office,” said Foster. “I am surrounded by very talented people who care about their clients and their co-workers, and I’m fortunate to work at a firm where the home office personnel go out of their way to support those of us in the field. HR, Compliance, Technology, Administration, and the product areas - they all want us to succeed. The autonomy and voice in decision-making, along with genuine support that my regional manager Van Thompson and my divisional director Dick Ferguson provide me and all of their managers, plays a big part in the success and growth of my branch.”
The annual Complex and Branch Manager of the Year awards are given to just two of the more than 245 complex and branch managers in the Raymond James & Associates system, based on nominations from the field and endorsements from the nominees’ divisional and regional directors. The ranking may not be representative of any one client's experience, is not an endorsement, and is not indicative of advisor's future performance. No fee is paid in exchange for this award/rating.
