Alex. Brown Continues Growth in Northeast, Recruits Client Advisor in Boston
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James, continues growth in the Northeast with the addition of client advisor V. Paul Lisanke, CAIA, in Boston, Massachusetts – according to Steve Pryor, regional executive for Alex. Brown. The Boston area is part of Alex. Brown’s Atlantic region, managed by Regional Director Brett Kellam. Lisanke joins client advisor Daniel Larsen, CFA, who joined Alex. Brown in November of 2017.
“We are proud with the growth and expansion of Alex. Brown, particularly in the Boston area, where Alex. Brown has such historic roots,” said Haig Ariyan, president of Alex. Brown. “Through recruiting quality client advisors here in Boston and in key markets throughout the country, the division is well ahead of schedule with our recruiting goals and successful advisor transitions.”
Lisanke joins from JP Morgan Private Bank, where he served as an investment advisor on a team that managed $1.08 billion in client assets. Lisanke and Larsen team up 15 years after they attended Boston College’s MBA program together. They serve a variety of clients, including individuals, corporations and nonprofits.
“For me, I was attracted to the opportunity to work at a boutique firm with truly world class technology, client transparency and an open architecture investment platform,” said Lisanke. “The firm’s client-first approach and the accessibility to management were critical factors in my decision to make the move. Staff and management do not just say ‘no,’ but rather, ‘we’ll see what we can do.’ That is huge for the ease of business and being able to provide optimal service to clients.”
Lisanke has been in the financial services industry since 1998. Prior to joining Alex. Brown, he spent eight years at JP Morgan Private Bank, serving as an investment specialist and advisor. Prior to JP Morgan, Lisanke served as a senior vice president at Atlantic Trust, where he worked directly with clients and served as a senior member of Atlantic Trust’s Multi-Manager Investment Program. He received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and earned his MBA in finance from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
Larsen, who has been in the industry for more than 15 years, previously held positions as vice president and portfolio manager at UBS, vice president and private banker at JP Morgan Private Bank, senior portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, and vice president and portfolio manager at Boston Research & Management. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and his MBA in finance from Boston College.
“We’re pleased to welcome Paul as he joins Dan here at Alex. Brown,” said Pryor. “Our boutique feel, combined with robust resources at Raymond James, provides advisors a unique offering in this business, and continues to make us an attractive destination for high quality client advisors. We look forward to supporting them as they grow their business as Alex. Brown client advisors.”
