Raymond James Recruits $182 Million Advisor in Fort Collins, Colorado

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recruited financial advisor Michael Trinen, CFP®, to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm’s traditional employee broker/dealer – in Fort Collins, Colorado, according to Pat Allison, Western division director for RJA. The new office is managed by complex manager Dennis Kaboth.

Trinen joins Raymond James from RBC Wealth Management, where he previously managed approximately $182 million and had more than $1.3 million in production. As a financial advisor and branch manager of the newly established Fort Collins branch, he serves a diverse clientele, including small business owners and other high net worth individuals. Joining him at the firm is Christina Abbey, senior registered client service associate, who holds the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™ (FPQP™) designation.

“We are pleased to welcome Michael to the firm, and we look forward to supporting him and his clients as he continues to grow his practice,” said Allison. “We’re proud that Raymond James’ unique combination of culture and support continues to be a gravitating factor for outstanding advisors, as the firm expands its presence in the West.”

“As we did our due diligence, we evaluated several firms,” said Trinen. “We kept coming back to Raymond James, as the firm’s culture stood out among the rest. The support they provide to advisors, in particular the sophisticated technology offerings, make it much easier for me to do business.”

Trinen has been in the financial industry for more than 35 years, having worked at John Hancock and later, A.G. Edwards & Sons and Dain Rauscher. Prior to joining Raymond James, he served as a branch director at RBC and was named to their President’s Council for 20 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Colorado State University, and in 2003, he earned the Certified Financial Planner™ certification.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® (with plaque design) and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
