Be a good social listener: What are your clients posting about?

"Social listening” is, quite simply, paying attention – keeping up with what’s happening on your social networks … what your clients and colleagues are posting about, changes in their professional status and in their lives. And then using what you learn to shape your planning discussions or initiate new relationships. For example, you might discover through Facebook that one of your clients’ grandchildren just got accepted to college. Offering congratulations at your next meeting could be the perfect opportunity to kick off a discussion about gifting options to help pay for tuition.
