At a firm where supporting advisors is a central aspect of culture, Shannon and her team focus on helping advisors do two things: improve working in their business and on their business. Shannon Reid joined Raymond James in 2007, leaving the notoriously competitive, hardcharging Goldman Sachs. Most recently, she moved from a breakthrough role as director of Raymond James Retirement Solutions to vice president of the Private Client Group’s Education & Practice Management team.

Over 300 companies submitted more than 500 nominations to the 2017 Awards, and a panel of judges made up of top names in the industry determined the winners. The winners were announced at the gala reception on October 11, 2017, at The Plaza hotel in New York City. The honorees were chosen for the award based upon the following methodology: 1) A new initiative, program or enhancement to an existing platform that helps B/D advisors manage a better business. 2) Initiatives can include the various practice management areas such as marketing services/support, sales process, succession planning, human capital, organizational structures, business planning/strategy, compensation plans, benchmarking, compliance, etc. 3) Criteria include quantitative measures – such as scope, scale adoption, usage, feature set, advisor survey scores, etc. – along with qualitative measures such as innovation, creativity, new methods of delivery, etc. Sixteen nominations were received in 2017 for the Broker/Dealers: 1,000 or more (Practice Management, Social Media, Technology) with six finalists and one winner selected. This award is bestowed by an independent third party not affiliated with Raymond James. Raymond James has not paid a fee in exchange for this award. This recognition is not indicative of future investment performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of an individual client's experience.
