Mike began working in the financial services industry in 1983. In 1986, he earned his Certified Financial Planner® certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. In 1987, Mike transferred his business to Anchorage, Alaska, and continues to enjoy being involved in the Anchorage community.
He is a graduate of the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and commissioned as a United States Army Field Artillery Officer, assigned to the 2nd Battalion 83rd Field Artillery in Babenhausen, Germany.
Mike is a former member of the Anchorage Estate Planning Council, a past president and member of Anchorage South Rotary since 1988 and served as Youth Exchange Officer from 2007 to 2013. He is a former chairman of the Great Alaska Shootout basketball tournament and sings with the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Praise Singers.
Mike is married to Sunshine, with three children and five grandchildren.
