Raymond James European Investment Banking expands European Diversified Industrials practice, hires Dr. Sven Harmsen as Managing Director

FRANKFURT – Raymond James European Investment Banking has expanded its Diversified Industrials practice by appointing Dr. Sven Harmsen as managing director, working from the firm’s Frankfurt office. Dr. Harmsen most recently worked for Robert W. Baird as managing director and has more than 17 years of experience in industrials, business services and education.

“The addition of Sven reflects our continued market momentum and growth in sector-focused investment banking, and also solidifies our position as a leading global, mid-market investment banking platform,” said Steve Hufford, Head of European Investment Banking. “Sven's expertise in the industrials sector allows us to expand our coverage of this attractive segment, to better serve the European private equity community and bring attractive acquisition opportunities to market across the DACH region."

Dr. Harmsen began his Investment Banking career at Drueker & Co. (now Houlihan Lokey) before joining Robert W. Baird in 2009. He holds a doctorate from Humboldt University’s Institute for Banking, Exchanges and Insurance in Berlin.

"As a truly global mid-market investment banking firm, Raymond James has earned the trust of its clients and the respect of its peers,” said Dr. Harmsen. “I am delighted to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial team focused on meeting its clients’ objectives by providing deep, sector-specific expertise and tailored transactional solutions."

"In his nearly 20-year career, Sven has been involved in more than 40 transactions,” said Hufford. “Last year we announced an aggressive global expansion plan in Diversified Industrials under the leadership of Alper Cetingok, with Joachim Beickler driving expansion in Europe. Teaming Sven with Joachim on the Raymond James platform further extends our franchise, and better enables us to deliver the skills and expertise of our more than 25 globally operating Diversified Industrials bankers to the European sector.”
