Clay Trenz Headshot

Clay Trenz,

AAMS®, AIF® Wealth Advisor

Clay brings more than two decades of experience to his role as a financial advisor, guided by an evidence based, objective approach to planning and investment strategy. His interest in investing began in the late 1980s when, during summer breaks, he watched the CNBC stock report each day with his widowed grandmother, who relied heavily on her investment portfolio to support her lifestyle. That early exposure shaped his decision to pursue a career as an investment advisor. Today, Clay is passionate about helping clients organize, prioritize, and allocate their finances in ways that support their lives and long term goals.

Clay began his financial services career in 2001 with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. In 2011, he founded Acuity Wealth Advisors and became an independent advisor affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services. In 2026, he joined Bend Wealth Advisors to gain access to a broader set of planning resources and further enhance the client experience. He holds Series 7, 66, and 9/10 securities licenses, as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF™) and Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS™) designations.

Clay earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology from Central Missouri University. He is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFII), holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating, and is designated as a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP). His aviation background informs his financial planning philosophy, drawing clear parallels between developing a solid flight plan and building a disciplined, well evaluated investment plan—both require preparation, clarity, and ongoing assessment.

Outside the office, Clay spends time at local airports instructing aspiring pilots and mentoring youth. He and his wife, Amy, enjoy traveling to visit their two adult sons, snow skiing together, and staying active with pickleball and other outdoor pursuits.
